Motivation and Students
The fact that some teachers mentioned about
the issue that we should devote some
attention
to the problem of the motivations it really important and its a good tools
to keep the students interested in the
learning.
We should really understand that motivations is a very important factor
in learning anything you want specially
a
foreing language and I am quite sure that this motivation depends
not only the students but also on the teacher and
everything
which is envolveded with the learning process. I think that the
teacher is the most and the first responsible
for
this motivation. Nobody likes boring classes .
Tools for Motivation
Games - When you plan your classes use a game or more the one in
order to break the routine or even to dynamise
your classes. 'cause students like to move, to play and to enjoy the place
they are, but first plan how and what use
with them..
TTT
x STT - Don't talk to much in the classroom, remember that you
are teaching English and your students are the
main gol and the have to speak not you.
Discussions
- Plan discussion to the students the love the idea of express their opinion
and is going to develpt their
speech and will reduce their fears of speaking in front of their classmates.
Musics
and Songs - Brings songs will motivate a lot your students they really
like to learn with songs or let them
bring the songs they like.
Use
videos, cartoons, films - One tool that I think is very important
for the learning process is the use of video in
classroom, but you should plan it or something you can do it just to
have fun, but never use videos to skip classes
the students will complain about it.
Consciesntious teachers vary their materials and try to find new pedagogical
techniques to improve their classes you
know that is a illusion think to improve the quality of your
classes just by changing your textbook
you should
remember that the content remains the same. It is very important
to know how to increase yours students' trust,
friendliness, confidence, comparation, comunication
an involvement. You should construct comperative situations,
and find ways to ge them to work together in small or large group.
A LESSON PLAN (Suggestion)
1 - At the begin of each class ask the students to discuss with their neigbours
what they learned
in the last lesson or divide them in group to spend the last five minutes
to review what has
been taught.
2 - After reading the texrt divide the class into group of four or
five give one student in each
group a list of guide questions to comprehension.
3 - Simulation exercise, written and prepared by the teacher
4 - Talk about picture brought by the teacher
5 - Quiz: the teacher versus the students
6 - Listening exercise
7 - Vocabulary drill, each student must change a noun or and adjective
in a simple sentence
I bought a blue dress.
I bought a ...........
8 - Associative - the teacher gives a list of words cousin
, friend , film star, etc., In group the
student talk about one of these topics.
9 - Everyone prepares and tells a joke
