TEN THINGS YOU CAN DO

From the Sony Museum of HIStory

APPRECIATE
Give thanks for what the world gives you each and every day.
The air you breathe, the food you eat, the water you drink.
Try once each day to be conscious of
The simple fact that the world sustains you.
EDUCATE
Continue to educate yourself as you go through life.
Learn as much as you can about yourself and others.
Life is a journey that is enriched by ideas
And the ability to communicate them with others.
MEDITATE
The world begins within you.
Take a few moments each day to calm yourself.
Listen to your inner voice.
Know that you are connected to the universe as a whole.
PRACTICE NON-VIOLENCE
Violence occurs when people feel separate from one another.
Know that every day, in every way you are
Connected with the totality of the planet.
Work to find solutions that benefit the whole.
RESPECT NATURE
The planet is an intelligent organism.
It thinks. It feels. It knows.
Respect nature and nature will respect you.
RECYCLE
We didn't inherit this world,
We are borrowing it from the future.
SPEAK OUT
If you see an injustice say something.
More often than not silence is the greatest evil.
TRAVEL
Seeing the world opens your mind to
The variety of cultures and customs.
By traveling you become aware of sharing
This world with people of all nations.
VOLUNTEER
Service to others begins at home,
Inside your family and inside your community.
Get involved at a local level.
The world isn't some distant place.
It begins where you live.
VOTE
If you are old enough to vote, do it!
If you are not old enough, then learn
About the issues and prepare yourself
To participate in the voting process.
The right to vote is one of man's greatest abilities.
Use it to create a better future!
